blame it on the boogie

"Ayala ang may sala. Abnormal rise on methane levels brought about by impaired pumps to dump waste materials from the septic tank caused the Glorietta blast."

- This was forwarded to me through SMS by a beloved. I don't know if this is true. He said it's all over the news. I haven't watched the television(news, teledramas ekkk, etccc.) in a while since I'm currently addicted into watching DVD series.

Last Monday night, I was told by another beloved that Ayala Mall had a meeting with its tenants about the mall management being responsible for the blast. Maybe not directly admitting, but is giving a hint that a) it's not caused by LPG and b) not a terrorist attack. It was highly confidential that time and they were asked not to divulge any information until further notice. (Hearsay? I dunno)

I pray for the innocent lives that were taken by this sad event. So affected by this, because Glorietta was my 2nd home in Manila. Hayz.

hey stranger

I realized that most of my blog visitors are totally strangers. They have bloghopped from somewhere or saw a link from another blogsite or wherever. My beloveds (read: immediate family members, good friends, and some loved ones) are the only ones who know my cyberhome. I don't want the others (read: them. lol) to know this, I don't want them to know what I've been doing and what's the latest buzz about me (capital B!).

I am a very private person (di ba obvious? lol). There are certain things that I really cannot babble in here. I may have, but indirectly. I want to protect other people's privacy and mine too (and for some other reasons I can't tell, now that's privacy). You know what I'm saying?

And to you my visitor: I just want to let you know that I appreciate you a lot. Whether or not you know me or you just wandered around blogsites, I thank you for your time... for hopping in and checking my site (me) out. I hope we could be friends, not just in the cyberworld, but on the real world as well... :) You take care k? And may God bless you always :)

risks

Well well well what do we have here ;-P I just finished reading "By the River Piedra, I Sat Down & Wept." I just want to quote the following from the book:

  • "Pitiful is the person who is afraid of taking RISKS. Perhaps this person will never be disappointed or disillusioned; perhaps she won't suffer the way people do when they have a dream to follow. But when that person looks back - and at some point everyone looks back - she will hear her heart saying, "What have you done with the miracles that God planted in your days? What have you done with the talents God bestowed on you? You buried yourself in a cave because you were fearful of losing those talents. So this is your heritage: the certainty that you wasted you wasted your life."

  • "You have to take RISKS... We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen..."

  • "If pain must come, may it come quickly. Because I have a life to live, and I need to live it in the best way possible. Ih he has to make a choice, may he make it now. Then I will either wait for him or forget him."

  • Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful. But not knowing which to do is the worst kind of suffering."
Arrrrrggghh.

I'm so proud of myself, as I took a lot of risks in my 23 years of existence in this crazy world. Because there's only one thing I'm afraid of: I'm AFRAID of WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN'S... And this has thought me a lot. I'm so much happier NOW. Yes I'm alone, but definitely not lonely. For there are a lot of people who loves me in spite and despite of my shortcomings. As I always tell my beloveds if they ask me how I am, I say: "I would't have experienced everything that happened from February 24 onwards, if I didn't take the leap."

Reposting:

"Maybe it's luck, maybe it's destiny... All I know is that your love is the best thing that ever happened to me. My life is so much richer and happier because I'm sharing it with you. Dreams seem more possible, difficult times are easier to get through, and even ordinary moments seem more special. I could never feel more loved and happy knowing that you're there for me... loving me unconditionally..."

K k, so much for emoticons in life. Hihi. I bought a new book by Paulo Coelho, "Like The Flowing River." an intimate collection of Paulo's thoughts, reflections, and short stories.

Blahhhs: I ate Warm Brownie Cup in La Marea.
I'm so excited. 5 sleeps to go. Yeyyy!

VANITY is NOT a SIN. It'sjust a way of appreciating GOD'S gifts. -- but it gets to a point that people become so narcisstic. (did i spell tht ryt?)

wehehe ingon ako cuz.. your pics look so cute kuno. anako di wui.. di man nacute.. wafa man na xa!

VANITY is a quality or condition of being vain. Dictionaries have defined it in a negative way but for me it connotes a completely different affirmative meaning. When I say VANITY, I don't pertain to it as an excessive belief in one's own abilities or attractiveness or some sort of self-idolatry; but just a mere act of my kaartehan. Hahaha! I may have chosen the title "narcissistic me" on my Photoblog entries but it doesn't mean I am. I just love taking pictures. I'ma certified camwhore. Nyaaaaak!

Uhhhmmmm... and why am I explaining? Hehe.

sweetest downfall

I'm oh soooo addicted with Regina Spektor's songs, she's like Enya. She sings from the heart, with matching birds chirping in the background, feeling calm, an ocean-size warmth, love is overflowin', ahhhh oozing with capital L.O.V.E.!

Her song "Samson" is what I've been playing all day... (all-night; currently my ringtone too!) Goes like this: "You are my sweetest downfall. I loved you first, I loved you first..."

In relation to this, in the game of LOVE, it doesn't matter who loved first, who said I love you first, who kissed first, or it does? Oh well, that's just a mere opinion from my beautiful mind, if you don't think so, that's fine. I just want to feel that moment... to experience my sweetest downfall... to love first...

Try listening to her songs! Ahhhh finest! ;)

In the mood for love,

bloodline

BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER

... but sometimes, PRIDE is thicker than both.

May it be parents, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, cousins, aunts, uncles, great ekk, etccc. - these are your RELATIVES, with one breed (not type) of blood flowing through your veins and bloodstreams. Relatives stick together, one will do more for relation than for others. Relationships within the family are stronger than any other kind.

But what if SOMEONE gets in the way? Would you just put your kin in to junk? Would you go after that SOMEONE and live happily ever after, well in fact your family is grieving?

I felt sad, because I just remembered what I dreamt about last night. I killed that SOMEONE. I tortured, caused that SOMEONE an inexplicable excruciating kind of pain, black and blue, until that SOMEONE ceased to live. Then I woke up, feeling restless and exasperated.

No, don't be afraid of me. I'm not a brutal-ala-murderer kind of person. I dunno what that dream meant or is there really an explanation behind it. But I just have this one simple question... IF YOU'RE HAPPINESS CAUSES SOMEONE A LOT OF PAIN, WOULD YOU GO FOR IT? WOULD YOU CHOOSE YOUR SOMEONE OVER YOUR RELATIVE (THE FORMER LOVE OF YOUR LIFE, YOUR PRIDE AND JOY...)?

Read between the lines...

quotable quotes

I often receive so many text messages, esp. everytime I wake up in the morning. Sometimes 13 messages received, 18, 23... etc. Thank you for the inspiring messages, Inday/Ederlyn/Dalawang Batang Bading jokes, and personal sweet messages from my beloveds and friends.

I just wanna share with you all my most fave quotes/messages (saw on a website, watched on TV, read on a book, received from a friend through text message or just simply...from the beautiful mind of Nicey *wink*)

  • "If two people are meant for each other, it doesn't mean that they are meant for each other now." - Dawson's Creek

  • "Everything that I understand, I understand only because I love." - Leo Tolstoy

  • "I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you." - E.B. Browning

  • "In 3 words I could sum up everything I learned about life: It goes on. About love: It doesn't last. And about people: They change fast." - sent by Donn

  • "No matter how much we love and care for a person, if we are uncertain of our position, there will be a point when the only thing certain is to give up." - sent by Mitzi

  • "A cynic asks: Why does everybody go crazy over happy endings? How could it be happy? If it's already the end?" - sent by Bong S.

  • "In our world of wrong choices, someday, someone will come into your world, who will make you say, 'This time, I got it right' " - sent by Bong J.

  • "SOULMATES? They say there are two people constantly in search for one another without them even knowing. They just feel incomplete somehow. Soulmates are meant to be together forever. That's why they continuously search for each other against time and space. Lucky are those who actually cross paths. However, they just cross... But who said they could actually be together?" - from a certain website

  • "Good morning! You awake? Take a bath na, you smell na eh." - from a beloved

  • "Vanity is not a sin, it's just a way of appreciating God's gifts." - Nicey *hihi*

Can you share with me you're most fave quote? ;)

cruelty

People accuse me of something I'm not. I am being judged for what they see and not for what they know...

So they start hating. I'm the type of person that (as much as possible) avoids fights or arguments. But there are heads out there who are oh sooo unreasonable. I hate (lessen the degree) them because of the things they do to me; may it be directly or not.

I don't look down on people, nor talk crap about them, but they always give me enough reason to do so.

And the weirdest part here is... I actually like the people who hate me. Ironic huh? I dunno. Maybe I have chosen to focus on their good side and not dwell on their cruelty.

Contemplating,
Nicey

delicadeza

I just wish people still have delicadeza even if we're no longer colonized by the Spaniards.

Oh well, poor you, if you don't know its meaning. Hayyy... It's so depressing to learn that not all of us were brought well by our parents. But hey, I'm not saying that I'm such a goody-goody, without a trace of bad bone in me; my point is: Why there are people out there who have a really evil rotten side in them??? And I don't even think they deserve to be called people because they don't act like a homo sapien! Because they don't think. (haller??? Does it ring a bell???).

DELICADEZA - defined as an act of being refined or delicate in tastes or manners.

Lemme define it in simple words (for rotten tomatoes out there): it's just a sense of decency or how to behave well in all circumstances. An etiquette that was passed on to us by the Spanish culture.

So sad that this moral value is no longer being practiced, passed on, and has become irrelevant. I'm afraid (and won't be surprised) that soon many would lose their ethical ties and instead become more like a rotten tomato...

***dedicated to: Weirda and Mini-me... *** (arrrrrggghhh...) mind your own business... or should I say your own 'things'? I hate 'cherry gils.' (read: copycats).

A person's own good breeding is the best security against other people's ill manners. Save lives, save souls. Beware of rotten tomatoes! Rawrrrr!

Nicey
